Two urban birding delights

Other days, another lakes.....   I discovered Lakes Monger and Herdsman and on a previous visit, birding with the skyline of Perth CBD in the background - and the sound of the freeway but what amazing places (apart from all the warning signs about snakes!!) so return visits where a must. A happy few hours spent strolling (everyone else jogging!).....

All the usual suspects for these birding hotspots, Black Swan, Corella, Australian Shelduck, Pacific Black Duck, Great and Little Egrets (some with bad hair days), great views of Great Crested and Australasian Grebe with young, more Spoonbill sightings and also some little gems amongst the ducks (for the European birder!!) - the very strange Musk Duck, Blue-billed, and Pink-eared.... plus Little Black (?) Cormorant, not to forget the Clamorous Reed Warbler.
