Highland Birding Week..

Health warning - this could be a long one!!

A great week in the Highlands with Heatherlea (well worth trying for some commission....).  Negotiating icy roads in the forest, high winds on the coast, snow on Cairngorm and sun on the West coast.  I hadn't realised that I would get some of the best views ever of Crested Tits, Capercaillie and Long-tailed Duck plus some bonus gulls - Ring-billed, Iceland and Glaucous.  We watched two White-tailed Eagles doing what White-tailed Eagles do so well - sit and watch the world go by, but too distant to photograph well; smiled at wild goat kids and saw an Otter mother and cub  - distant but you can see them!  Flying Turnstone and Mallard on ice......
