Thought I would do a page covering the Svalbard trip. I know it was a couple of years ago but the memory is still fresh.
home for the week... but we did get on land...
And lucky enough to see this young reindeer take its first steps

the worlds most northerly tourist shop?? 
Brunnichs on iceartic skuas were plentiful
as were blue fulmars 
midnight in the arctica bearded seal watched the watchers
and a polar bear interrupted breakfast.... 
pushing north through the ice and an ivory gull flies past
an arctic tern screamed over head
but didn't detract from the larger (and smellier)
and yes, we were that close!

The feelings were not quite reciprocated
a distant beluga whale - and not so distant red necked phalarope
barnacle geese showed off
the puffins were on steroids!
