Going further afield - North Cave!!

Seemed like today was the best weather forecast for the weekend so braved the traffic and headed off for North Cave Wetlands - very windy but the bacon and egg butties were good!!  Avocets were 'interesting' when looking at the pics when got home - the Wren that stayed still was amazing!!  And a quick visit to the nearby woods for bluebells was a nice end to the day.

Just another day at Bempton

Set of for Bempton at 10.30 am with the intention of joining a Puffin Patrol - half way there lights flashing all over car dashboard………..  tyres!!!!   Phone call and dash into Brid and the lads at kwik-fit did a great job made it up there by one o'clock - two new tyres, pressures correct and all aligned and balanced (unlike me!!).

Puffins-a-plenty, although many fast asleep they were also flying in and out; a Gannet doing a quick flight in, grabbing some grass, a short circle back and on to its nest just underneath - don't think any thought of cliff erosion!!  And Razorbills finding a spot in the sun…..

But first back to yesterday and a Hare in the field at the back of mine - that sun lounge makes a good hide - worth sitting longer over that mug of coffee!!

And finally Gannet photo bombs Puffin pic… or Little and Large??

They are back!!!!

Yes, the Puffins are back - and with a head count of just under 3,000 from Speeton to Flamborough - they are back in force!!!  A glorious afternoon at Bempton Cliffs………..  so no apologies for a Puffin-fest with a couple of interloping Gannets - well apart from the two pics at the end!!
