Bempton on a very very windy day

Visited Bempton with my australian niece yesterday....  the wind was strong - like skydiving............ WOW!!

The wind had obviousy got to the gannets temper..

but the puffins managed to find a quiet spot

Another gannet fest. from Bempton -   they were certainly on form today, puffins playing their usual hard to get flying in and out, but even they were in on the grass collecting act....

between the showers...

Had some good birding through the window (and the hail stones) with a W Warbler and the Great Tits trying out the nest box, think one thought it was a woodpecker!!  Managed to get to the Head and back with a seal enjoying an afternoon snack...  and a Turnstone wandering the edge of the cliff...

Blustery

Blustery to say the least - a (very) brisk walk to the Head - the gannets were very close and very low - looked like hard work to me!!

Easter at me Mums

It was a wet weekend but managed a trip to Martin Mere with avocets and falamingos (sorry family name) were the stars.  We found a new spot locally and managed grey wagtail but dipped on the dipper that has been seen regularly - but we might have got the wrong bridge!!  Weekend finished with a wren enjoying a drink or the bugs on the roses..
