autumn has arrived

still working my way through the Australian pics - watch this space - so thought I would prove that autumn is definitely here!!

RSPB Seabird Cruise - 18 September

the sun shone..... Arctic Skuas chasing, Common and Sandwich Terns, Gannets diving.....and an adult Sabines Gull ...  what more can I say - only two more to go...... http://www.rspb.org.uk/datewithnature/187771-shearwater-and-skua-cruises

A walk round the Head........

It was such a georgous evening that I couldn't resist a walk round the outer head, swallows gathering, cormorants flying past and a whearear at the fog station

Seabird cruise 10 Sept............

A bit of a bumpy ride at times but some really good view of the birds, arctic and great skuas, manx shearwater sat on the water, sooty fly past, plunge diving gannets, and a sabines that was so quick.................didn't manage even to lift the camera!!

another good one - with Sabines Gull the highlight, black terns, sooty, manx and balearic shearwaters, bonixe and arctic skuas, little gulls, thousands of guilemot.....  All good views but not so good for the photographer as they will keep flying away...........

Cruising the waves .................

Had a great cruise today, first went up to Bempton and then pottered around to see what we could find......  Little Gulls, Guillemot, even a Puffin!!  Bonxie and Manx Shearwater, not brill photos but you get the idea!!

and then headed to Bempton for Tea with Gannets.....

A prickly visitor

this little chap has spent the day wandering around my lawn - the ladybird got away...
