a trip to Bempton

Before I start with Bempton, a visit to the Peregrines in Sacrborough last week

think this one was saying - go away I'm eating!  think a pigeon was the delicacy!!

today was springlike to headed up to Bempton, one for Linda...

then wandered slowly along the cliffs ...  a bit overcrowded in places..

the fulmars were showing off

this razorbill was curious - well it is a long way down

found the new CCTV camera..  or is it an alien?

and finally found a puffin sat on the cliffs - however far away you just have to take a photo of the first one!!

On the march with the E Yorks RSPB group

Had a smashing walk today along the River Hull - not that much around, but plenty of redwings, fieldfare feeding, mute swans flying over.  Ate my sandwiches with camera in one had as a Robin came closer and closer............  kept telling it it wouldn't like cheese and ham sandwiches but I don't think it believed me!!  After lunch we set out northwards and had a barn owl hunting along the hedge parallel with the path, little grebe playing hide and seek (more hide than seek!) and distant ducks..

A gaggle of geese

A brisk (joke!) walk around the Head was short of birdlife, but white fronted geese were being lazy, other sightings inlcude two purple sands, curlew and a lot of busy guillemots!!

November shots....

Haven't done much birding this month - fog, fog, work and car getting in the way but had a bonus today, visited Steve Race exhibition  - excellent - and then went to suss out the Desert Wheatear at Bempton - great stuff
