the weekend of 11 Sept. so far.....

Started the weekend with a walk down Old Fall on Friday, and a Kestel was enjoying the evening sun and eyeing up dinner.....

Saturday saw an RSPB cruise from Bridlington leavng the harbour at 730am, on a very high tide, unfortunately a Black Tern was the only real highlight  - and that was distant

but the Greater Black Backed gulls, Shags and Gannets performed well

 

Other highlights of an afternoon walk included willow warbler, an Oystercatcher flypast and the Redstart has now appeared in the garden on the last four days

      and a seal .....

A sunny day in Filey

In spite of a disastrous weather forecast it was actually a sunny if cold windy day - but warm enough for icecream on the beach.  A walk on Carr Naze produced some distant eider and sandwich terns.  A late afternoon visit to Filey Dams..............

Just getting ready to go to work on Friday morning - and realised the bird on the fence opposite was a Cuckoo.   Grabbed camera, it flew, managed to grab a few shots through the window - and still made it to work on time!!

All quiet on the eastern front....

Not much to see this evening so concentrated on the birds closer to hand....
